Not a lot going on tbh. First week of uni, and my time table is pretty fukd. Too much free time in between classes. But i guess it'll give me time to actually do some study.

I really need to be applying for graduate roles right now. But i'm so sick of getting turned down i don't even know if i should bother anymore. It's disheartening.

My first day at uni today... well i can't really say day because I was only there for 2 hours in the evening. Just as I was at the bus stop about to board my bus, I get a phone call from MK asking me if I wanted to go see Inception tonight with some others. We were meeting up at JN's place which was only like 10mins walk away from uni, so I said yeah and that I'd meet him there. JN is a mutual friend, and I've known him since 2006 since we both lived at college together.

It was a good opportunity to catch up with people, especially those I haven't seen for a while, but I sort of felt dissapointed that I wasn't invited by JN himself, since it was his idea to get together. Instead I was invited by MK who was invited by JN. I don't think JN meant anything by it, but it does make me wonder where i stand, as a friend, if I'm forgotten for something as simple as catchin a movie.

I went on the city cat for the first time in a while as well. It's my FAVOURITE form of public transport. The Brisbane river and surroundings are beautiful at night. What made it even better was that many foudn it too cold to stand out the front so I had the whole front deck to myself. :-P If it weren't for my phobia of doing something stupid in public, i would have raised my arms up and shouted "I'm the king of the world" ala Titanic.

We saw Inception at South Bank and I have to say it was a great movie. It plays with the concept of dreams, and the sub-conscience, and the idea of 'dream sharing'. It's really mind boggling and it does call into play the question of "is this REALLY reality, or is it simply a dream world?". Even before I saw this movie, there have been so many occasions where I've said to myself that I'm living in a dream world, and that one day I'll wake up. Sometimes I've been tempted to do really stupid, sometimes extremely dangerous things because of the little thought in my head that this could be just a figment of my imagination, and that everyone i know and see are just projections. It's that little idea in your head, that grows into something out of control. Hence the title of the movie, "Inception". I'm glad I haven't taken the leap of faith, and done something stupid. Whether its a dream world or not, I do not know, but I'm happy for the good times I've had.

After the movie ended, we all disbanded pretty quickly because we all had to take different routes back home. I have to take the train back, while some others took the city cat, and buses. I got on at South Brisbane station, and took a train to Roma St where I had to transfer onto the Ipswich line to get to my stop. At Roma St, There was a train 2mins before mine, and for some stupid reason, I hopped on that one, which took me back to South Brisbane, WHERE I STARTED FROM, resulting in me missing the last train on the Ipswich line. argh.. >.<

I wasnt quite sure what to do - no more buses, trains or citycat back to where I live. The only other options were walking back, which would have taken at least 2-3 hours, or Taxi. I got a cab back and struck up a convo with the driver and told him about how i missed the last train back. I was surprised because he stopped the meter well before he had reached the destination. He stopped it at $20, but it could have easily gotten to $25 or even $30. I guess it pays to be friendly to cab drivers. Either that or he just felt sorry for my stupid misfortunes.

---

Oh i forgot to mention, if dream sharing were real, i don't think anyone would want to share my dreams. They're so random, crazy, and psychotic. Theres only been a few times where i've been able to control my dreams, (i think i might have posted about one time) and on a few occasions I've had dreams within dreams.

I've always thought I was crazy but I find that I study better in my dreams - call it 'dreamstudy' if you will. For example, say I've read a chapter of a text book, or a sheet of formulas; I can keep going over and over it while awake, but its like nothing sticks. It all goes in, and then goes out and I dont keep anythign in memory. But if i 'dreamstudy' and revise in my dreams, over and over and over, when i wake up, I suddenly know what i've been trying to revise. Its crazy, mental even, but for some odd reason it works - assuming im able to start the dream.

anyway im tired so off to bed.

PPS. i want someone to cuddle. it gets so cold at night and my doona is grossly inadequate.

Why are the people who matter most to me the ones who I take for granted? Why I am rude to them all the time? Why am I such a selfish pig? Why do I have to think of myself all the time? I hate myself.

1) Awkward silences aren't really awkward. They are more like "nothing needs to be said" moments

2) We sit together on the sand, at a deserted beach, at night, listening to the beautiful ocean sounds basked in nothing but candle light

3)You walk with me, with no particular destination in mind

4) We cuddle in an empty train carriage, awaiting our station

5) We agree to watch a movie that neither of us like, in am empty theatre, just so we can be together

6) We take the scenic route, even though it means we will have to drive further

7) You lay beside me, in an empty field, gazing up at the stars above. We are holding hands

8) Together we watch the sun rise, from the highest peak we can climb to

9) We watch the sunset from golden sands of a deserted beach

I just got back from work and no matter how hard I scrub, I can't get my hands clean. I've been at work since 6am this morning. Like the day before, it was all manual labour. The weather was pretty crappy, but it cleared up during the day which was alright.

We had some new workers come in today, but there were non-english speaking, and I had to show them around and how to do the work. It was extremely frustrating, because they didn't know what i was saying, and I didn't understand what they were trying to say either. I'm like the worst person when it comes to explaining things, so naturally it was even worse me trying to explain to them using gestures. I've got really bad body language so I may have confused them more than teaching them. Ah well. Day's over.

I've got 4 more days left at home, and the closer it gets to the day I have to leave for school again, the slightly more depressed I'm getting. Although it can be a bit hectic at home, I'm gonna miss it. What i liked about this particular trip home was that it was actually calm, serene and quite cruisey. In normal circumstances, these words are far from what actually goes on at home. Usually its commontion, banter, conflict, anger and a thousand other synonyms for unpleasant. I realise how fragile the balance of life is at home. I wonder if them knowing about 'me' will make things all the worser. A part of me thinks " i don't care what anyone else thinks", but the other half sends out repressive thoughts, thoughts that reaffirm my belief that my family will never be ready to accept me for who and what I am.

In 4 days time, I'll be on a plane. Probably seated in the rows either from 17 - 20, sitting at a window seat. Contemplating what the next semester holds for me. I keep telling myself that this semester is going to be the one where I get a Dean's commednation for high achievement. This semester is the one that I'm going to ace. The one i'm going to be prepared for. I tell myself these things all the time. I set myself high standards, but then in the end I always confide in myself that those standards were unrealistic and accept the usual poor results i achieve, and in those results evaluate my self worth.

I make promises to myself that I'll be more sociable. Try and hang out with people more often. But usually after the first couple of weeks back at uni, I forget those promises. When i make promises to others, I keep them to my grave, yet when i make promises to myself, i break them all the time. I really hate this aspect of myself.

--------------------

At work today I was chatting with mum, and somehow we got to the subject of infidelity and premarital sex. I was horrified to learn that mum was strongly against premarital sex - she went on to tell me that it brought dishonor and shame to the family. She also mentioned some other really grewsome punishments that i won't mention. I don't understand her at all. At times she seems so forgiving and accepting, and then BAM she says all this other stuff that makes me think otherwise. I wonder what she'd think of homosexuliaty/bisexuality? Would that bring shame and dishonour to the family?

I read this quote somewhere before, and this pretty much sums up my feelings: "Those who matter are those who don't care. Those who don't matter are those who care"

So in this sense, who really cares about shame and dishonour, when those who are most likely to look down upon us are those who really don't matter? If those who really matter don't care, then wouldn't shame and dishonour be non-existant? So why should we live our lives to please those who have nothing to do with us?

I'm really going to miss driving around when I'm back in brissy. I hate public transport. :-( I'm also going to have to start my job hunting again. Not only for graduate roles, but also a casual job so i can make a bit of $$$ for myself.

I suck at blogging. I dont really think any of my posts have any flow at all. I jump from topic to topic without even the courtesy of a poorly written segue. But i guess it doesn't really matter cos noone reads this anyway, and my only intentions for this blog was for me to be able to brain dump. So i guess its all good then....

Anyway I best be off to find something more constructive to do.

PS.. i need to learn how to close my posts in a better way

Oh man my entire body is sore as. I was at the farm helping mum out. Apparently it was a lesson that i needed to learn. You know, those types of lessons that start out with "back in the old days....".

She made me help her plant like 2 acres worth of rice and corn crops. All by hand. Ouch. Apparently us kids have to too good nowadays and we don't realise how much sweat, and human effort goes into producing the stuff we take for granted. It wasn't until then that i realised how much stuff she actually has growing here - we've got 3 different varieties of bananas, coconuts, mandarins, jack fruits, herbs like coriander, dill, basil, mint, shallots, spring onions, veggies - spinach, bok choy, cucumbers, melons, watermelons, beans, snow peas, corn, rice, taro, ginger, galangal, tumeric, bamboo....heck and these are just some of the things i know of, im sure there are plenty of other stuff too. Oh she's got chickens too.

Mum said that when she was a child, they had to produce everything they ate. And everythin was done by hand. She wanted me to experience what she experienced, in order to open up my eyes and realise that we shouldn't take life for granted and be grateful for all the luxuries we have now. I asked her why she grew all these things when she could just go and buy them and she told me that its because it reminds her of the past - my parents had a pretty rough early life - and because the pain she has to go through makes her a better person.

For me? - Lesson learnt. not that i ever did take things for granted.

------------------

Last night i had a dream. Not quite sure why, but recently my dreams have been of people who I used to know, but haven't seen in quite a long time. I used to have a friend called ...hmm lets call him Max. Max and i were in a few classes together and we got along really well. I haven't seen nor talked to him since the end of highschool which has been like almost 5 years. But for some reason he's in my dream.

For a reason unknown to me, he asks if we can swap our phones for a day. Im reluctant to do it, because i have some erm.. quite inappropriate pics and videos on there which i don't want anyone else to see, especially not him. I tell him no, but before i knew it he's already got my phone, and when i reach down into my pocket, i find that i've already got his.

Im freaking out and I dont know what to do. "Please whatever you do, don't open my pictures or videos. please!!! I beg of you!!"

Now why the fuck would you say that?!!! OMG its like if you tell someone NOT to do something, isnt' it obvious that that's the first thing they'll do?

and then i woke up.

Moral of the story - I really need to delete all the nudey pics and vids of guys off my phone before someone sees them.

:-( i dropped my 55mm f1.8 lens today and broke it. *sadface* im so annoyed with myself. i don't even know of its worth fixing, cos i can see small fractures in the glass. The autofocus seems to be stuck as well, so i can't take close up shots anymore. waaahhhhh.. :-(

So I'm laying on my bed in my room with a sheepish grin on my face. It's so laid back and cruisey at home. Im home alone, but really I don't even care. In fact i love it. The weather keeps alternating between cloudy/rainy to sunny so I get to stare out my window and watch the clouds roll pass and the sun come out every 5 mins. Its nice, because my bed is directly beside my window, so when the sun comes out, I'm basking in its glorious rays feeling cosy, and just when it begins to get too hot, the clouds come roll in again. The cycle continues while im laying there grinning like a fool.

I spent the entire day yesterday 'washing the car'. Not really, it wasn't just 'washing the car'. I gave it a full detail, which consisted of interior detailing (vacuuming the interior, conditioning the leather upholstery and wiping down all the interior surfaces and glass) and exterior (washing, drying, removing bug and tar residues, claying, prepping the paint, waxing and polishing, scrubbing the glass, cleaning chrome trim, wheels and tyres and lastly conditioning all exterior plastic trim). It was pretty hardcore, i started at 7am and didn't finish until 5pm.

My entire body was aching at the end of it. To give you an idea of the scale of the job, picture a 5m long 7 seater SUV with 20" rims :-) (;-) and me having to use a chair to do the roof)

It was well worth it though, especially seeing it glisten in the sun. I swear it looked better than the day we picked it up from the dealership. I downed 2 panadol rapid tablets that evening.

See, the problem with our stupid country town is that the roads are in bad condition and because some of the roads i have to drive on are shared with agricultural vehicles and trucks, there's a lot of dirt on the road. Dirty roads + rain today = the car back in the state it was before i detailed it *sad face*

lol it only stayed nice and shiny for a night while it was in the driveway.

-----

so anyway, after i told mum about how i missed my stupid flight and not having any money on me, she lectured me about always carrying emergency cash in my wallet. So she gave me $100 and told me that it was not for me to use, but instead to keep in my wallet for emergency purposes..

i went to the bank today because i needed to deposit some cash into my credit card and have a guess at what stupid thing i did....yup ... i deposited mum's emergency money too. :-( I didn't realise until i got home. and now im too lazy to drive back to town to the nearest atm. parking was such a bitch. i did laps for like 15 mins before finding a parking spot. talk about growing pains - this council really needs to put parking as high priority on their list of future developments.

----

i also had a dream last night. it was about a friend i had a falling out with a while ago. it was really eye opening because what she said to me in that dream made so much sense. I felt really guilty, since after thinking back on it, some of those things were legit. But also i surprised myself. In the dream i stood up for myself and openly told her how i felt about her and how she treated me and how i didn't like it. In reality, i was always too fearful of hurting her feelings if i told her the truth, at the expense of my own feelings.

I have no idea why this resurfaced, as this happened well over 3 years ago, and i haven't seen nor talked to this person since. But it did really awaken me. I learnt that i need to harden up, and realise that sometimes things have to be said even if its going to hurt the other person. And also that i need to stop being so selfish and thinking about my own feelings all the time - i need to see the situation from the other persons perspective.

Life's like a box of chocolates. You never know what your gonna pull out. (Unless of course its a box of cheap-ass homebrand chocolates that all taste the same. my lifes been a bit like that recently)

:-) i'm looking forward to what tomorrow will bring.

Its so nice to be home again. Apart from the awful weather (rainy) its nice to just be able to sit back and just relax, and chill out. Even though I dont have anyone here to hang out with, it doesn't matter. I feel so free out here in the country. i love it. Im a country boy :-P I can just go out in the paddock and just drive around or just cruise along the highway or just to any random place.

It's kinda strange. Back in brissy i suffered from insomnia. yet at home i have no troubles getting to sleep. and i also dont have the compulsion to be glued to my laptop screen strangely enough. so yeah, while im here, i might not come online too often.

Looking forward to tomorrow :-) i hope it stops raining soon, cos I'm gonna detail all 3 cars. its gonna be a massive effort, but i love doing practical work.

so yeah i might go now. gonna sleep cos i got a bit of work to do tomorrow.

>.< --- :-X --- -.- --- :-| --- :-) --- :-D

Could this be the worse day ever

fuck you insomnia

fuck you TN

why TN? your all sarcastic and put me down one minute, then the next your all nice to me again.??

:-P so that was like the only quote I could remember from the movie.

Tonight was a blast. After helping my friend move some stuff from his old place to his new one (it was like 600m up the road) we went and saw Toy Story 3, the 9PM session. Man, that movie was awesome. I can't believe its only a PG rated kids movie!! :-P Honestly, Toy Story 3 is a really well done movie. Plenty of action, suspense, drama and comedy. It did get a bit dark at times but overall very cohesive and great story telling.

You know what was really cool though? We were the ONLY people in that movie. I couldn't believe it! :-P It's kind of been like a fantasy of mine to be in a cinema where there were no other people around. I guess that fantasy has half been fulfilled, but it would have been nice if i had someone to cuddle with. :-P i have to admit, I did kind of let my mind wander, because I know that it'd probably be rare to be in the same situation again.

Boring day turned awesome :-)

My last day tomorrow before I fly home. I was going to ask TN if he wanted to go see a movie tomorrow night. I don't know if I should though. He'll probably say he has to work on Saturday and make up some excuse as to why he can't come.

You know what? screw it. Im not going to ask him. I've thrown enough hints at him. Over the last week while we've chatted, I've already asked him a few times if he wanted to do something, and he knows that I'm flying home on Saturday. I've also mentioned a few movies but he didn't seem interested.

God... What possessed me to even think about asking him...

I wonder if he thinks I'm getting a bit desperate and a tad creepy? Or maybe im just not a good enough friend. meh.. whatever.

So i got off my ass and went to uni and got a new student ID card :-)I wanted to keep my old card because i wanted to keep the photo, but they wouldn't let. Even though it had expired :-(

I also had my Go card renewed too! :-) no more $7.80 tickets. ahh the joys of being a student.

I'm at uni atm. In the library using the internet because im bored, and using the internet at uni is soo much more interesting than using it at home.. not. lol. I like the iMacs though. They're cool. too bad they're running windows.

So i texted a friend to see if he wanted to hang out or something, but instead he asked me to help him move his stuff out of his old place into his new one. :-( Not that i mind helping, but he doesn't get back from work until 5.30'ish and so that'd mean after moving, it'll be too late to go see a movie or hang out or whatever, since he has to work tomorrow morning. lol now i kinda wished i hadn't texted him.

I was thinking, your a blog right? So technically your sort of like a diary. So should i start my posts from now on with Dear Diary... hmm maybe Dear Blog. That kind of sounds silly doesn't it?

Im surprised how many people are at uni even though its holidays (outside that is). The library is heaps quiet though.

Complete and utter boredom has just set in again. I fuckin hate it. So i've checked my vitals (emails, FB etc) youtubed a bit, watched a bit of TV and now I've run out of things i want to do.

:-) oh im also home alone again sweet (not..). you'd think that since im home ALONE I'd be able to erm... keep myself busy. but yeah that gets boring too.

I also booked my flight home on Saturday :-) woot. can't wait. I want to go back, but now im sort of regretting it. There's just too much crap going on at home atm that i don't really want to get into. And i also have a great fear of "missing out" on things happening here if i fly home.

mmm White Chocolate Mocha. Best thing thats happened to me all day :-)

not sure what im going to do now. The last 3-4 days i've just been sitting on my ass doin sfa. The weather is slightly clearing up. Still a bit gray though.

Did i mention im utterly bored? I hate being inside.

Seriously, today sucks majorly. I got my uni results back and needless to say I wasn't impressed. But then again my results weren't unexpected, so that made it less of a shock to me. Still, it was a disappointing result. I failed a subject. I really don't know what to do with myself anymore. My graduation date was supposed to be the end of this year, but now I don't think it will be anymore. I can't sit a supplementary exam either, since this subject wasn't exactly a core subject to my degree. Its also only offered in semester 1. :-(

It's so fitting that today is overcast, cold, gray and depressing. Again I'm sitting at home by myself, bored. I checked for flights back home, but they were really quite expensive which made me contemplate not going back at all. I really want to go home though, not that I've got anyone at home to hang out with. I like to drive when I'm bored, or feeling down. It's my way of escaping life. I drive.

I talked to TN last night. I asked him if he wanted to see a movie with me. He declined, and said something about having to work late. Fine. Whatever.

My sister is in Newcastle with her BF. I'm sitting in my room by myself. :'(

I want to go see a movie. But I've got noone to go with. I don't want to go by myself because it'd be weird.

Yesterday I went on a 6km walk because I was so damn bored. I walked pass the car dealerships. I love cars. I thought about going there again today, but I've been there so many times the staff might think I'm weird. I don't want to go walking again today because I've walked the route so many times it gets boring. I walk when im bored or alone. At home i drive.

oh... about movies. I wanted to see Nightmare on Elm street. But noone wants to come with me.

I wish I had a car :-(

hey blog, it's all in my mind yeah? the fact i feel so worthless right now? I got turned down from every single internship/grad position i applied for. These results are probably just another nail in my coffin. Like i mean i can have the most impressive sounding resume, but one look at my academic report and who is going to want to hire me? Noone evidently. Can i blame my emotional problems for my bad grades? Or should i just harden up? :-( Thing is, i know i can do so much better. I can sit there and spruik myself to my employers and tell them about how much potential i have and how good i can be, but if i can't even back it up with solid evidence, why would any employer take me seriously?

I feel like my life is confined to a little tiny box. And i can't break out of it.

:-( there is no life in me.

>.<

-----------------
The List:

So I decided to write down a list of 'friends'. By friends I mean those who I'm comfortable enough with and know well enough to invite over and just hang out. I struggled to write down 6 names. Even of those 6 names, 2 of them work pretty much full time now so i hardly get to see them, 1 of them has been overseas for a while and only just got back not too long ago and I haven't talked to him much since he got back because he's always busy or away or something.

No wonder why I'm bored and depressed most of the times. I really am a loner, and that list just confirms it.

Im so over it. I hate sitting around doing nothing by myself. The internet is so boring.

I need to get my student card renewed. My stupid go card has expired and stupid bus tickets cost me $7.80 each. What a rip off. Sydney was only $4.40.

Okay so it wasn't really a date. I texted my friend EV today to see if she wanted to hang out, since she told me earlier that she was pretty much home alone for the week. She came over and we watched tv and chatted for a bit before going out to get some lunch.

It was pretty funny because she didn't know the directions to the place we wanted to go to, so she put it into her GPS. The stupid GPS sent us around in cirles for about half an hour with stupid directions like "in 450m turn left, and then left....RECALCULATING".

After a while we realised that the GPS location was about 100m out and it was telling us to turn before we even got close to the street we were supposed to turn into.

After lunch we hung out for a bit before coming back to my place, watching more tv's and then going out to dinner. I felt like a gentleman because i paid for both lunch and dinner - my wallet didn't like it though. I dunno why i did it. It just felt weird if i didn't. It's almost as if i felt obligated to pay because we were at a somewhat pricey restaurant, table for two, and we shared a desert - like it was a BF/GF type of date. EV said she'd shout dinner since I paid for lunch, but lunch was way cheaper than dinner was, so I'd feel bad if she paid for dinner - so I paid for it instead.

After dinner, we watched my avatar DVD. Her first time, my 4th. When i first saw avatar, i thought it was the best thing ever, but now after seeing it 4 times, it really doesn't do much for me anymore. The storyline is pretty basic and I found i spent more time pointing out the logical errors or flaws in the movie (of course to myself in my head, not aloud).

She left about an hour or so ago. So here i am sitting by my lonesome.

That was my day.

----

I'm talking to TN atm. He started the convo. He asked me what i was up to, because i "...seem really quiet tonight". I'm quiet because I don't want to talk to you partly because im tired, partly because I sort of don't like you anymore and partly because you always talk about technology and shit and I really don't give a damn about the latest iphone or DSLR or android phone.

Unlike the last few days, today is a totally awesome day! Beautiful sunshine and not too cold. I'm sort of home alone, and bored. I got this new HD TV tuner thing that you can plug USB devices into, but I've found that it only plays MPEG files which really sucks, as most of my movies and tv shows are in AVI format.. blah.

I texted a few people to see if they wanted to hang out or something, but so far no replies.. Guess im just not cool enough.

When i get bored, I clean. It sounds lame but it keeps me occupied. I've cleaned my room, done my laundry, cleaned the kitchen and the living room. Right now though I'm kind of over it, so i'll leave the bathroom for my housemate.

Dunno what to do for the rest of the day. The day is just too good to waste sitting around at home. *sigh*

----------

EDIT - Okay so I'm now kinda glad i didn't go see anyone today. I went up to the mall before to get some medication and when I went to ask the lady at the counter for what I wanted, literally nothing came out. It's like my voice was gone. Kind of embarrassing. Grrr.. I want my voice back.

I was bored so I was watching masterchef and I laughed when Gary's hollandaise sauce started overcooking. Haha he scrambled his eggs on national television!! He shouldn't have put the hollandaise back onto the heat to whisk the clarified butter in!!

:-P I know I'm horrible but my hollandaise sauce is so much better then his. At least I don't scramble mine, and have to pass it through a sift/sieve (sp?).
